CRX HF Steering Rack?
I was wanting to go to a real manual rack in my '93 Integra, but I don't know which one to get. I've heard that a CRX HF rack has an even better ratio than the 1989-91 Civic Si rack. Can anyone confirm? Thanks...

I've never been able to find out WHY they are different. (ratio or turns lock to lock?) But the only ONE that is different is the Si. The DX and Hf are the same. I can give you part numbers if you want.
THE Si. one is the different one. NOT the Hf or DX those 2 are the same.

Just how big a difference is it between the Si and HF racks? They use the same bolt mounting pattern and brackets, correct? Anything is better than the DA Integra's variable assist power steering...
The part # for the Hf/DX steering rach assy is :53040-SH3-A02
part # for the Si ONLY is : 53040-SH3-671.
As I posted above above I don't know WHAT the differences are or WHY.
I only know that they are different. And all the internal replacement parts and their numbers are different as well.

Well, I knew that the HF was different that the Si. Thanks for the correction, I learned something new. The HF has different gears I believe that make it faster when turning, its the over-all gear ratio. Like a wuick accelerating tranny vs. a tranny thats set up for fuel economy.

I believe SCC has something that talks about the steering box on there Project CRX, you may want to check that out.

I only understand the lock to lock rating, and that's all I want to improve in my DA.
From what I gather, the stock 1990-93 Integra has 3.5 turns lock to lock, and the Civic racks have 3.9 in the HF and 4.1 in the Si.
Guess you lose some precision with a Civic rack, but gain more feel...
