Default Help me diagnose this...

Here's the deal. I haven't driven my 2001 ITR with 2200 miles in about a week. They've been tearing up my neighborhood's roads to repave it. So I take it out of the driveway today because the Salvation Army had to pick up an old clothes dryer. When I pull it back in I notice some white smoke coming out of the exhaust (I know I know burning oil). So I get out of the car and it smells like something is really burning. I check the oil and it is a little low. It is right above the first dot. All right. So there is nothing I can do about it now. I'm not taking it to acura today because my roads are still torn up and I'm not going to F up my paint like that. So I go shopping for some new clothes for about four hours, come back home, and check my oil. Now, the level seems reasonable. It is right at about the second dot. Yet, still I think a little smoke is coming out of the exhaust. I plan on taking it to acura to have it cheked out, but does anyone have any suggestions. By the way, I got this car May 19, and I changed they oil to mobil 1 synthetic at about 1300 miles. What's up?

the oil level thing isn't a big deal - if your oil level seemed 'down' after you've started the car, it's because some of the oil is still up in the engine. 4 hours later, it will have found it's way down into the oil pan.

as far as the white smoke, a little is normal when you first start it (i think . . . )
