Default Timing

I was just reading about advancing the timing on a post about getting from 15.02 to the 14's in the 1/4. Can someone explain the exact way to do it, I slso read somthing about flipping some switch on the passenger side floor board or something like that??? Will advancing my timing help my 94 RS at all?

Yes, advancing your timing can help with your torque curve and high end, but BE CAREFUL!! If you advance too much you will eventually screwup the entire valvetrain of your engine, and you will be buying another one. Advancing only about 2-3 degrees on both the intake and exhaust sides is safe. But be smart and get it professionally tuned . Don't let Joe Smoe do the job

Ignition timing. Stick to stock specs (16deg BTDC +/-2 deg.)

I run at the spec....18deg.

Go here for advance timing Dyno plots.

I believe he's referring to ignition timing rather than cam timing and in this case Chris is right.
