Could an '88 crx dx with an '88 si motor swap along with the typical CSP engine and suspension bolt ons race in ITA?

if its not an Si chassis, then no. Rules prohibit it, even though its the exact same chassis. Lame huh?

plus, a fully prepped CSP car is allowed major mods to the intake system (carbs instead of fuel injection, individual throttle bodies, Haltech/Motech, etc.). those are all no-nos in ITA.

now, i think it could go the other way; i mean, a totally legal ITA car should be able to go to a local autocross and run in CSP. i don't think it would be super competitve in CSP, due to setup issues between road race and autocross, but I think you would be legal...

good luck.

Todd is right (there is something I don't say often! LOL!). Any IT legal car can run CSP. The only one I'm not sure about is ITE. Don't expect to win though.

An IT legal car goes to its correct SP classing. Since ITE is a catchall class, a lot of them are not SP legal. For example, the current ITE track record holder at Lime Rock is a 944 turbo with a built motor and lots of boost with something like 4-500hp. Not SP legal. Most ITE cars probably will go to mod or SM depending on how much interior they have left. Maybe that is a good question for SCCA National?

IT cars can run SP classes, but they must be in full IT trim. You are not allowed to swap between rules for each class. An example would be you can not run wider wheels than are allowed in you IT class even though SP allows unlimited tire and wheel sizes.
