Default UNIQUE Apex Exhaust problem, please help!! (Pics Inside)

Ok, I searched and searched and all I found was "the exhaust rattles on the heat shield" Well my problem is this:

The part where the axle back and the "s" pipe meet, this joint, touches my gas tank. Is this a problem?? It doesn't rattle. Here it is:

Also, I think my tip is too far out. Everthing is tightned down and installed, here is apic:

Are these things related? How do I adjust the fitment?

Thanks!!

the tip looks good to me

i don't know about it touching the tank though. Maybe you can wrap that part in some heat shield tape or something

It's not touching the heatshield. It's touching the gas tank.

We don't have any of the heatshiled tape anymore. I like the rubber idea though, how did you secure it, glue?

Oh, another question. On this exact WS model, I see there is an extra hanger near the silencer (suppresor?). Is this just to be left alone??

That is not your gas tank. The gas tank is under that plastic shield.

mine rattled in the same spot when I first got it, and it ended up actually rattling on the brake line itself. I had to reroute the line over top of the frame rail to keep it from rubbing it in half. I also took the peen end of a ball-peen hammer and beat down the gas tank edge, because we all know that there is no way in hell that I would bend a 500 dollar Apex cat-back You know you fit the car around the pieces not the pieces around the car. It finally stoppedrattling, but I still hear it every now and then w/ the AC on...

i JUST got this fixed yesterday. if you look under your car near that joint, you will see the rubber hanger that holds the exhaust up. you will see a random bar of metal sticking out of the bottom of ur car. take off the rubber hanger, slip the middle hole over that, and then reconnect the two end holes to the exhaust and your car. this will pull the exhaust away from your gas tank just the right amount, and u dont have to be sticking random **** in ur car. Just have someone help you by pressing on the exhaust pipe towards the edge of the car so that you can stretch the rubber hanger over... i would suggest some wd40 too to help make it easier. good luck

i'm going to go try this trick now

edit: so you stuck the middle hole of the rubber exhaust hanger on the extra metal rod thingie? and left the top hole on the orignial metal hanger, and the bottom hole connected to the apex exhaust??

you could try to loosen up the whole exhaust and see if you con move it so the pipe is not bound up under there, then tighten it up.

i'm trying to do the hanger trick, but it's hard to get the middle hole on, then put the top hole on the stock bar.

I had the same problem with my WS touching the fuel tank. I cut off about a 1 square inch of old tire and stuffed it between. No glue, the was enough pressure to hold it there, if not, use 2 thick.

Correct me if wrong:

I have the apexi n1 catback on my 92 hatch.
I heard something slightly rattling and i thought it was my heat shield.
Took it to the muffler place they said it was touching my gastank and eventually it will vapor lock if heated enough...they added like 1 more inch to my pipe and problem solved...be careful man goodluck
