Default 1999 Civic DX - Clicking noise from LF wheel. What is it?

I have heard CV joints go bad before - it's more of a constant, "one click per revolution of the wheel" if I'm not mistaken.

This noise I've got is most noticeable when turning to the right - several small click noises occur each time the wheel turns. Could this still be the CV joint? Could it have something to do with the tire/hubcap/wheel? I checked the CV joint boots and they all looked fine, no grease on the inside of the wheel, everything checks out ok I believe.

Gimme something to investigate, guys -

Alex

I guess if you could elaborate that would help...I know a lot about Hondas in general, but when it comes down to it I really don't know the technicalities.

I know what an axle is - but isn't the axle considered the whole part between the tranny and the hub? What part of the axle? Why would it be clicking?

Thanks for your patience with my retartedness.
