97 itr tranny

Default 97 itr tranny

my friend is selling me a 97 itr tranny with lsd. does this tranny come with the 4.785 FD S80. i thought it was only 98+ itr trannys that came with that final drive. this is going on my lsvtec.

That 97 tranny has the 4.4 FD. The 98 ITR has the 4.785 FD that everyone loves.

Actually all USDM ITR trannys have 4.40's. 96 JDM ITR tranny has 4.40. 97+ JDM ITR tranny's ahve 4.785 and differn't gearing.

Yes JDM 98 Spec and up tranny had the 4.785 FD they also had a Different 4th and 5th gears which essentially negates the FD.

Off the line the 98 spec tranny is quicker but the 96 spec ,and I imagine the u.S. Spec tranny (being the same) makes up the difference in the later gears.
