Cloverleaf Mall Time Trial and Beat the Heat
Just wanted to let anyone within a couple of hours of Richmond know that tommorrow (Sat. Aug 9) there will be a new style NASA Time Trial at Cloverleaf Mall on the South side of Richmond. Chesterfield County Police will lay down times to beat in the morning and then the public will get a chance to "BEAT the HEAT" for $5, which will go to charity. One may choose to practice only ($20). One may choose to practice AND compete in the time trial ($30). One may choose to only do the Time Trial ($20) or only the beat the heat ($5 per run). One may choose to Practice and do the Beat the Heat ($25). Two local Radio station DJs will be there to compete against eachother as well as doing on air promos. Might be a good place for sponsor exposure for anyone close to Richmond. TV commercials and Radio Commercials for the event have been playing for 7 days.

I set up the course this afternoon while cobetto was cording his tires drifting (corded 3 already, and the event hasnt even started yet!) - its rather challenging. Bring your hoosiers
So I was wolfing down a big roast beef sandwich at a Hardee's near Midlothian turnpike around 5pm when I thought 'what the ****, I'll swing by Cloverleaf mall and see if they have set up the courses for tomorrow's event yet.'
Result? Riding shotgun with Cobetto in his beater 535i on junkyard tires while he "tested" the drift course over and over again. I've never been closer to puking in a car in my life, lol. Lesson learned? Don't eat a big sandwich right before drifting.
This event is gonna be a BLAST. Be there if you can!!!

The event was plenty of fun, and we got a good number of cars to show up for the short notice on advertising.
Stay tuned, we will be running a NASA-VA winter autox series!
