Default Used Type-R, is this price good???

2001 Yellow Type-R w/ 10k miles.

CarFax says it was a Lease vehicle on Feb 13 with 13 miles on the ODO. No other title records. The dealer bought it in a auction from the place who leased it (they can't resell a lease car at the same lot).

Car is in very good condition, two small rock chips in the paint. ZERO mods to the car, it's bone stock. I took it for a drive and it runs very strong. Tranny feels extremely smooth.

It's got a 7 year/65k mile warranty from Acura and new Bridgestone E010 tires.

So what do you think? Is it worth $25,700 (plus TAX, title, etc)?

Thanks,

Anthony

ehhhh....I got mine new for 24,900. Try to get them to come down based on the fact that it's not a new car, plus the paint chips and mileage. If you can get them to knock off 1200 bucks then go for it.

The dealer paid $22,400 at the auction. I have all the numbers in front of me and in the end they are getting approx $1500 profit.

If they paid $22,400 and you pay them $25,700 then how do you come up with $1,500 profit? I would think their profit is then $3,300 (but what do I know?).

Right now, there's no standard price for a low-mileage ITR. When they were new, the dealers paid $22,500 for them and the MSRP was $24,800 and most dealers were selling for MSRP or a little less. Now, there are no longer any new ones, so dealers can ask whatever they want for them. And bone stock ones are particularly hard to find.

So it comes down to how badly you want it. If you don't give the dealer $24-25K they can probably get it from someone else...

I guess $22,000 to $22,500 is a price to go with it as there is no more new itr in another couple years, what can u do if u really want it...right?

It really depends on the area you are living in. If it is a large urban area and the dealer knows the market, then he probably knows that he can get his asking price for it.

I'm gonna have to disagree with all of you. Personally I think that it's a fair price especially considering that there is no book on the car, nor will there ever be. I know of tons of people out here that will buy it for that price. The last one we had was a 01 NHB w/ 10k on it, and we sold it to an employee for 27.5k.
