Default exhaust question?

I am new to so do not feel like you are wasting your time I want to learn as much as possible. I know that putting duel exhaust on a 1 exhaust car will not let the car performe to its desired performance....civics, preludes, integras. I was wondering how does this compare to a in line 6? 03 accord? I assume that it is a 6 cylinder it needs to get rid of exhaust fumes quicker because it is sucking in more air thus having 2 main pipes connected directly to the cat?

The Accord is a V6, not an I6, so dual exhaust in that application would be benificial.

An inline 6. Where a 6-cylinder motor has it's rod/piston combo in a straight line. As oposed to a V6 where there are two cylinder banks and two cylinder heads most common at 90 degrees or 45 degrees to save space. Spit 3 and 3. So you have two separate exhaust manifolds and exhaust. As oposed to the inline 6 which has one exhaust manifold.
