any you figure this out??
ok, have some problem with my turbo setup...
the setup is 99 accord f23a1, 5spd, 450 dsm injectors, tial wastegate, t3/t04e 50 trim, with vafc hack...
transition to boost is great, but when in full boost, after i hit the 10psi the wastegate starts to dump out the excess air, as soon as wastegate dumptube is engaged, the car goes into limp mode...i'm not feeling any boost and the car stops accelerating... the sound is really weird when that happens...i can hear wastegate dp sound, but car just stops accelerating and engine seems to vibrate (as if it's chokoing on something)...
i had very similar experience when i installed vafc (before turbo) as well... at that time, when i had my vtec set at 5700rpm, after around 5000rpm (when vtec should have engaged, but wasn't allowed by vafc), the car did the same limp mode thing...
now, anyone with similar experience? i seriously need some help since i'm planning on getting the hondata installed next week (obd2->obd1 conversion as well)... i would like to sort this problem out before i head to inline for installation...
thanks all!

well, let's toss the injector issue aside for a moment...i got it to fit and it works...so i'm content...but i'm not happy about "limp-mode" problem...
can SOMEONE please shed a light on this issue???

idle at -39, it was tuned on wideband/dyno but due to knowledge (of lack there of) of the tuner, it could not get consistant a/f ratio to lock in...i think i posted about this fiasco and how i wasted 400some bucks here already...
here's initial run with everything set at -39...
here's as one of the plot during the tuning...
a/f ratio also kept on changing after each run...very puzzling...
also, anything after 5000rpm couldn't be tuned since it would rocket to 15:1 everytime regardless of changes on vafc...
help?

hehe i noticed that attitude in a many posts on h-t. anyway what code do you get when u throw the CEL?
EDIT: do you actually throw a CEL? hehe you just said limp mode but i dunno if you meant that it threw a code or just went limp

it does throw a cel, but i believe it's from ecu reading boost...
it's been on for couple of months, so i'm not too worried about it...
but when the limpdickmode engages, i can only hear dumptube and not the engine...it's as if the whole engine just completely dies off or something...

what are you're afc settings?

question for you...what does the dumptube noise sound like. I wanna know if its what I am hearing in my boosted F23a1 5 speed. There is a turbo whine and then after that there is a sound like air blasting against something, then when i release throttle there is the 'put put put' of the BOV.
I'm running only 5 psi right now (haven't tuned it yet) with FMU controlling 2 additional injectors. I do not experience any limping under boost, but i do experience limp mode when not under boost(under 3k). Also, at high rpms, the tach needle jumps around all over the place, but there is definitely thrust.

Wow what are you smoking? There must be a million hondas with dsm injectors. Its just a cheap 450cc injector after all. It fits perfect with the dsm orings. And wiring in a resistor box is very easy.
An injector is an injector..its not like mitsubishi made them.
Why spend $250 on RC's when the dsm 450 are $50?

Werd...
I used 450 DSM's in my CRX for over a year daily driven NO problems. You can't just immediatly point his problem just given what parts he's using...
....especially since you pretty much know nothing about his car other than the fact he's turboed with DSM hack and a 50 trim T3/T4.

ive put over 25,000 miles on my dsm 450cc injectors. Never had a problem. Another friend has had them in his car for 2 years. They work great.
