Final Attempt to find a good tuner in Washington....
As the topic says. So far I've hit Fastlane and Import Specialties / Turbo Tech. Let's just say I was majorly disappointed with what they were trying to tell me.
Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

tow the car down to so-cal. Everyone I talk to seems incompitent when it comes to my tuning needs.
It's seriously pathetic that there is not a single person who stands-out as far as good tuners.
needless to say I will be sending my car down to california to get tuned.

I take it you're in WA too? Who have you talked to? I'm not really in the position to send it down to cali yet, and I don't want to give up hope that there might be a decent tuner in the area.
Your in Washington state? Good luck man! I haven't found a decent tuner shop yet. There are good machine shops, and some places have good dynos but, you better know how to tune it yourself. The shop owner of Fastlane once told me that upgrading to a 1-way differantial would help, and that ITR differantials are 1.7-way! The "tuner" scene hasn't caught on here... just the ricers and the ugly hatchbacks... (case in point the primered all motor B20VTEC EG hatch that runs 12.3s) watch out for the hatches...

Im looking for a good tuner for when my motor is done, I was thinking about ground zero in Portland, they seem to really know their stuff. It's also a lot closer than cali.
. i thought i was the only person looking for a tuners in wa. Are there any machine shops in seattle to everett area who doesn't send the heads and shortblocks down to california? I am getting quite sick of this state and very lack there off support for the import scene. This state is has been known for being 8-10 years behind cali, oh well. i need to get my ls shortblock rebuilt
I agree with you on this one. Just drive down to cali or else settle for a moderate tuner in WA.

Im Tacoma born and raised, and there isn't **** for tuners. I've tried, and some machine shops around here are ok, but i can't find **** for tuning anywhere in western WA. But if anyone knew, the owner of Speedline on South Tac. Way might know where if he can't himself. I can't trust any shops around tacoma, but i'll probably give him a shot.

BAAAAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA!!!! Do i ever have stories about speedline! The owner Kyle is by far the least knowledgable shop owner I have ever had the pleasure to talk with. On my two most recent visits, not only did he not know what "CTR" stands for, which is understandable, but when he did find out what it meant, his price quote for CTR pistons was $550 w/o rings. Then when i was shopping around for a JDM DC header, he gave me this whole schapeal how my b16 is going to lose a lot of power because of massive loss of backpressure. I laughed my way out the store.

I had an appointment to get tuned at ISA, but Donny bailed on me, so the turbo tech (associated to ISA - next door neighboors) guys were going to tune my car. After asking a few basic questions, I soon found out that they were 1) unaware of what the term "all-motor" meant and 2) unaware that cam gears are adjusted to gain hp. I grabbed my keys and left.

LOL...that ********. kyle is the owner? See everyone? that's the kind of **** that us tacoma guys have to deal with. we need at least one good shop around here somewhere. everytime i drive by there i try to get a peak at the STI, and don't try to go in that rice shop.
I had Intec play with my AF ratio a couple days ago, it was my first time there. I guess the shop is ok except they quoted me 60 an hour for my AF dyno tuning but ended up charging me 120 because the 60 is just for the dyno rental and having them tune your car is another 60, which they never told until it was time to pay up....so it was really 120 an hour + wideband. And I was only strapped on to the dyno for about 30 minutes.

I found this place called "carb connection" by searching for Washington state tuners on the Dynojet site. Here's the link http://www.carbconn.com. They also claim to tune hondata. Give it a shot.

I found a few more places in Washington with "MUSTANG Dynos". Maybe they can tune? http://www.mustangdyne.com/ Click on the "dyno locator" on the left hand tool bar.
Speedline is ridiculous. Fastlane is a tad better, but I haven't come across a place that I like yet.
ISA I'd trust for engine work if I didn't want to do it myself. I've dynoed my car there, just for a baseline run. For $40 you can't go wrong. And don't blame the guys at Turbo Tech, they're all domestic fools. When I was there they were tuning a twin turbo Vette, so they might know what they're doing. I'm under the impression that TT does a lot of turbo fab work.
So does C-Speedracing have a dyno? Or what's the deal with that? I can never find any info about that place.
I've talked to Ground Zero about tuning twice. First time I heard $175/hour for dyno + tuning, second time I heard $175/hour for dyno only
So I don't know what's up with that. They do have some impressive turbo cars running Hondata though, so might be a last resort.
Here's what Mustang says:

I haven't heard of half of those places. Anyone have any input?
And any more info on machine shops? I'll probably just send my head to Sage @ HondaSaver in UT but someplace local would be greatly prefered.

Doesn't seem like that bad of a place.
Any of you guys interested in checking the place out?
