Whump-whump-whump..(bearing?drive axle? tranny?)
Alright, here's the skinny:
I have a low "whump-whump-etc" sound coming from my front. My first thought was a bad wheel bearing. But when I cut the wheel and go in circles, it is not a definate "churning" sound being emitted from the left or right wheel.
So I figured it was a drive axle. Just to be sure, I stopped by Acura and had a tech take it for a spin. After a lap or two, he said he thinks it's something to do with the tranny. Yikes!
Any experiences with this sort of thing? Any advice?
*The sound and slight feeling of the problem has progressed in the past 4 months.
*Originaly it only happened at turns; now it's constant.
*The repetitive sound increases with speed.

I have the same problem too, I'm betting it's the wheel bearing... I'm having mine changed, so I'll let you know how it goes.
I doubt it's the axle. If the CV boot went bad you'd hear clicking, and other than that there aren't too many parts to move in an axle.
It might be the tranny, but I'd try wheel bearings first (include the intermediate shaft bearing as well) cause your car is gonna need to have them changed soon anyhow.
