Difference in RSX & RSX Type-S (160HP Vs 200HP)
What is it about the type S ( dont know engine codes yet, think its K20A2 ) that makes it 40HP more than the baseline model ( K20A3? ) ?

Well for one the Type-S has a 11.1 compression ratio, while the base model has 9.8.to 1, also the the Type-S has different cams thats why it has a higher redline than the base model. This pretty much makes the extra 40 horses. Then you have the other features but they don't really play a part in the HP, like the 6-speed manual tranny.

S has a performance form of VTEC and base has an emission form of VTEC. Ports are bigger in S. Compression is higher in S (as previously stated).
The type S has vtec on both the intake and exhaust cams. Audible while in stock trim and you can also feel it. The base model has that secondary intake valve that opens up to like another 10.0mm or something. trust me!!!! Drive both and your brain will tell you the better of the two. Also the Type-S has some mechanical differences like fiber reinforced cylinder walls that the base does not have. the S has an oil cooler where the filter mounts...the base does not...
Remenber the base and ep3 civic si have the same engines.
