as of now, i am registered for H1. woo hoo! got a room at the Sleep Inn Suites, too. now all i have to do is prep the car and drive down....

couple of questions:

1. will we be night racing again? that was very cool, but scary too. if we night race again, i think that working side, tail, and at least one headlight should be a requirement. some of the cars last year, especially the dark colored ones with all the lights taped up, were really tough to see.

2. since this is a Hyperfest, we should be running in our own group, right?

3. roll call! who else is coming? or planning on coming? sound off!

can't wait to see everybody there!

I said i wont be there. I said i dont want to go. But....

If someone needed crew help for the weekend and i could hitch a ride down to the track and I had a floor to sleep on and some beer in the cooler.... I could be convinced otherwise.

Maybe its just that i dont want to flag at lowe's or instruct hizzy drives w/ close concrete walls and banking.

 

I agree. Headlights and taillights must be working if this is a night race.

I'll be there - instructing. I passed the comp school at VIR, but have never been to Lowes and decided that big concrete walls and my first ECHC race don't mix. I have never been there before either. Should be out with the ECHC crowd at summit / cmp.

My son and I should be there, but I won't be racing. Even though the yellow 1st gen. CRX should be running better (and not leaking oil), I haven't been planning to run LMS again. I don't figure she has the power to qualify (125% rule).

I do still occassionally go back and watch that video. That race was stupid wild, and that pass you tried on me going into the infield was... ummm... "dramatic." Too bad it didn't even come close to working .
There I am, making the left, and this white thing goes flying across the track in front of me. And as quickly as it appeared it is gone. Much like a typical UFO sighting.

And Franza...
That Checkered flag thingy they wave from the stand thingy means the race is over. If you actually go under it before the rest of the guys in your class you get whats called a "win."
Just thought I'd throw that out there since there really hasn't been any evidence that you understand this principle.

My consecutive streak of H-C starts will end at 18. 9 race weekends and 18 races over 2002-03. I guess, now Corey(?) will now own the streak. Anyone else start EVERY ECHC race?

last year Lowes was the only track I ran where I could even challenge Jack for the lead (sunday's race). don't know why, really, as it should favor the higher output, upper rev range kinda hardware... I guess Lowes just suites me and my driving style... as for Evans, I don't think i can hang with him. only thing i can hope for is to run a really good, fast, hard race, and for him to have a mech gremlin or two which will slow him to my pace.... hey; i guy can hope, and who knows, it might happen

i'll say this, though: "my foot will be glued like lead to the floor". the car is a full inch lower than it was last year, plus has a homemade front spoiler on it now. hopefully that will be good for a few mph on the main track. at the last three weekends, my mechanics begged me not to turn it higher than 7500 rpm; my thoughts on the subject are: "bah. humbug. why start listening to them now? she'll hold. she has too "
