I'd like to use this size auto-xing on my stock wheels, but I'm unsure if they'll fit. Has anyone mounted any other size tire than 205/55-16 on the stock wheels?

 

It's been awhile since I sold tires, but shouldn't try to use 215/50-16 tires. I believe if you go to 225/50-16 although they will fit they will have a different radius size than the 215s or 205s and therefore through your speedo off by about 2 mph. The clearance is deffinetly there to do it though.

 

I think the 225's are a little wide for the 6.5" wheels. With a 7" wide 16" wheel, you should be fine thoguh. Yes there is clearance for it (under the strut tower) but I think you may have too much side wall flex becasue of the thinner rim..

Just got a set of Kumho Ecsta 712 225/50R16 installed this morning on the stock wheels! A 7" wide wheel would be better, but still...
