ls tranny?
I have a b18a in my crx and on the tranny it says A1- numbers. Is this a ls tranny? The gears seem REALLY short. I know the ls is known for having longer gears and is better suited for turbo but damn in 5th gear at 60 mph the revs are at 3k and my tire size is 15s with 50 sidewall. Im also hitting 5th gear in the 1/4 which is kinda rediculous... any help would be great
Well, my B18a/LS trans, the trans says: S1 then numbers.
but 3000 rpm @ 60 mph sounds right, the early LS trannys supposed to have 4.40 final drive, which would put your rev's aroudn 2900 rpm @ 60 mph
A B16 trans you'd be at 3250-3350 depending on the final drive(4.266 or 4.400)
You are hitting 5th gear in the 1/4? What RPM are you shifting at? An LS trans you shouldn't be hitting 5th gear until over 105-110mph.

also the 1/4mile was on 20in slicks, I told that to the guy I was racing which was running allmost the same times that had a b16 crx with 100 shot and he was like "your hitting 5th gear wtf!@#!" So I was thinking he should be hitting 5th too since b16 is shorter but he had 15s with drs so maybe its just all about tire/wheel size
