Default Hand brake warning Light

My Handbrake warning lamp keeps appearing while Im driving it appeared to start last night. it would light up when I took off but when I took my foot off the accelerator it would dissappear. now this morning it says on!

Im not silly and I have the handbrake down proporly. when applying the handbrake the light actually gets brighter and when let down the hand brake the light still stays on.

not sure where I should be looking.. it seems to be an electrical fault. also my 4ws also disengaged itslef this morning. not sure if that was coincidence but turning off and re-egaging the motor fix that.

Any Ideas?

Yeah brake fluid all the way. I had the same problem. I was pissed I looked at my brake fluid and it looked to me like it was full. I ripped the center console apart to check the e-brake switch and it was fine. I just figured it couldn't hurt to add a little more fluid and voila! All better.
Mine was doing that whole light getting a little brighter deal too.

Excuse me for the stupid questions but does it matter if a mix a different brake fluid in. my brakes were done at a brake shop so Im unsure what fluid they used, or should I callem and ask?

No it should not matter the brand but you should use the same type of brake fluid. If you still have your bill from the shop it might say on it or just call the shop and ask what kind of fluid they use. Just don't use DOT 5

it's in the reservoir. There are 2 wires that come out of the cap.

I also have a 92 and they are there. It's like they are in the threads of the cap. You can see them on this pic

The one that is over by the Fuses is the ABS. The one farthest to the drivers side is the Clutch.

All you really need to do is look for simple things and that usually fixes problems in your car
