Does your friend have a mandrel bender? or a regular press bender that most muffler shops have? Normally, people buy prebent tubing from summit racing or local muffler shops, then tehy chop/weld to spec. that's what i suggest you do as well. Try to use aluminum if you can, and tig weld that thing. Tig welding looks the best. Well, some mig welding can look nice too, but yeah..

Too much trouble IMO. Just go buy some bends from Jcwhitney and cut them to your specs like mentioned above. I got all the u bends, bends i needed for $78 shipped from jcwhitney .

Unless he's extremely wealthy, it won't be a mandrel bender. Not many places can (or have reason to) cough up the dough for those babies.

Buy some mandrel bends from JC whitney or whoever, and like everyone else said, chop em down, and what I would do is just tack weldthe stuff in place and take it to someone who knows how to tig weld good and have it tig welded.

If you can't eyeball it tell what you need, just get a bunch of 180s. You can make pretty much anything out of those. Unless you are after looks, you'll save a lot of money paying somebody to MIG them rather than TIG.

This new "racer" generation is so hung up on form they tend to forget function..the important part

why have it mandrel bent? It's PRESSURIZED AIR ..... it's forced in there anyway, the bends don't have to be supa smooth. Just use your friends bender and do it on your own. instead of cut n weld, cut n weld, cut n weld... my god that'll look horrible.

That's why you're called a "Trial User". Any more bad advice that you shouldn't be giving out?
