Painting CRX, Did any of you shave/paint moldings?
I'm looking for some suggestions before I paint next week. My current plan is to take off the upper molding and shave the whole thing flat but leave the bottom molding. I'm worried about the paint chipping off the bottom molding though. Does anyone have any pics of shaved moldings or painted moldings on a CRX? Any suggestions from people who have done this please.
The paint will chip off the plastic easier.
Please don't paint and shave the moldings it doesn't look as good as them being left black.
Check out the gallery on my site for some really clean examples.

What're you talking about? You just have to prep the plastic so the paint sticks, there's a special primer for this purpose. How do you think cars from the factory are prepped? I had the moldings on my 91 integra painted and it lasted through parking lot dings etc. for 3 years until the car was totaled by a drunk driver. Black moldings just look less clean IMO.

It still chips off the plastic EASIER than the rest of the car and adding a flex agent makes the color darker requiring more hassle.
On a crx the mouldings look better not painted.
