Ok, I was in the Mens Wearhouse today and a guy driving a RSX Type-S came in
I start talking about the car to him being the car nut I am
he told me he has worked there for 27 years and is in charge of car allocation over this region, anyways to make a long story short
He said that next year there will be a RSX Type-R here
But it will be using a s-2000 engine and may not have I-vtec
also he said he has seen the new NSX and it will be a 3.2 or 3.4 liter v-8 with only minor cosmetic difference
well i daily drive a vette and well i am not to to big on honda news so help me out tell me was he full of ****???

He's full of ****, at least on the RSX-R part. It would take a hell of a lot of R&D to work the F20C into the DC5 chassis. The JDM ITR already exists, so why mess with it?
As far as the NSX goes, what I believe will happen is a minor facelift for 2003, followed by a redesign and a 4.0L V8 in 2004.
But we shall see.

IMO, he's full of crap.
Why would the RSX-R use the s2k engine, when 1- it has it's own engine already. 2-FWD, so they would have to take the s2k engine, make it fit first of all, and then they have to make sure it's orientated the right way for everything (tranny), if it uses the S2k engine it wont have I-VTEC, while the RSX-R in japan already has I-VTEC.
The NSX is rumored to get a V8, but that has been flying around for a while now. It's supposetly going to compete against Ferrari now.
But like i said he's full of it , evey dealer, rep, salesman, enthusiast, bum has a theory or a prediction, but none of them are concrete. Rumors can be true, but there's no point to believe in them unless there's some proof to support it.
I'll believe it when i see it.

If he was in sales, don't trust a word he says. I know the specific details of any car are usually in the air until they start building cars en-mass. Marketing people have heavy influence on these decisions. Look at the 1.7Liter B series engines that will in only the USA model of the Integra GSR.

We were supposed to get the V8 NSX's, but, supposidly, we're not anymore. I read somewhere about how Honda's going to stick with the V6, but, make it more powerful.
I still don't believe the Type R's will come to the U.S.

Well I believe they will revamp the entire NSX to make it more up to date becase it's been around since the 90's and still hasn't changed much..in looks wise. Plus I think they should go with V8 atleast I haven't heard anything different.
I beleive they may import the ITR here if sells are really good on the Type S. But I believe if they do it will rely on if they start selling them in the UK as well as there new emission testing is closer to our own now. So if it's legal there there shouldn't be alot more they have to do to make it legal here. I expect maybe 04' we may see the RSX Type R maybe.
