Since the Sleep Inn at Danville sold out so fast for VIR, I decided to get two hotels for Lowe's Motor Speedway. Both of these are about a mile from the track and have restaurants within walking distance (Hooters, Texas Steakhouse, and Bojangles). Both are very new hotels with pools. Sleep Inn pool is outdoors and Springhill Suites pool is indoors.

Dates for Lowe's Event are Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24. Rates are available for Thursday through Saturday nights. NO CAMPING AT LOWES.

if i wanted to just do a hyperdrive, do i have to sign up now? or could i just register when i get there. i know there were plenty spots open last year. im refering to the 20 min session. i had a blast last year doing it, just not exactly sure if i can make it yet.

 

We are about 1/3 full for Hyperdrive sessions already and we still have a few weeks to go. I think you most likely would be able to get a space but I can't guarantee it. If you decide to just show up, be sure and arrive at 8AM when gates open for spectators and procede straight to the signup/information booth. Registration for hyperdrive sessions is at:

me and my little LS are going to give 110% at Lowes; last year this is the track i performed the best at -- i plan on trying REAL hard this year.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn by Hooters and it is quite nice. The others are too. Check out Concord Mills for the Alabama Grill and the other one near to it. They have car cruises in the front lot from time to time. The mall is huge and has many eateries.
If you do not mind staying further from the track, we like the Days Inn about 20 minutes away-very reasonable.

We should rally some people together, I'm in and I think others would be to make this trip that much better. Plus I have never been on one of the better kart tracks.

Probably end up throwing new bearings (mains/rods) in Chads B20 to finish out the season...having a HARD time finding a B18 short that is in stock bore trim!

**** Karl that blows.................... I had a blast racing you last weekend and was looking forward to more close racing.

I will be there but not driving. Now I wish I was because of the possiblity of being 3rd in points. Oh well, can you say burn Charlotte to the ground time?

I am frustrated with my driving beyond anything I can put into words. It keeps getting worse with each consecutive weekend such that I leave the track pissed off rather than happy.

So I'm cutting my losses and hanging it up for the year.
