Stock antenna owned!!!
the old-school-up-&-down antenna was owned last night when I closed my trunk and now it's half bended (in 90 degree), imagine to drive around with that thing!!
(pictures to follow... it sucks)
no big deal, hated it in the frist place anyway, so now here comes the conversion.
I saw tons of posting about the S2K conversion and the result of the bad reception. (Which can be fixed). (RStoR) was selling the S2K conversion kit, but I don't know if he still has it... so what's exactly do I need for the S2K conversion?
I also know Toda Party has done a Insight conversion (which personally I like the skinner Insight antenna), so do I need the same kinda of kit for the S2K antenna conversion?
thanks.

I did the conversion few years ago on my other integra wich Im selling and Im gonna swap the S2k antena now in my R...reception was pretty IMO only lost one station (howard stern) in Buffalo lol
Since when did a motorized antenna become 'old school'????
Helpful bit of info - I searched 's2k conversion' for the R forum in the archived topics and found 5 threads that might help. I'm sure there are more under 'antenna conversion'.

That's surprising. My hatch doesn't interfere w/the OEM antenna when it's raised.</TD></TR></TABLE>
It was lightly bend to start with (after all those HW driving)... I think it was caught by the spoiler...

kinda 'old-school' cause all those newer generation cars have their antenna on the back window.....

IMO best way to convert to S2K and keep good reception is to get the full assembly from Honda. Cost about $100 but I think it's worth it (My antenna stopped working and was quoted $140 to fix
)

Here is a pic...I bought everything included with #3 and on #8 the bottom plastic part of it is what I cut off so that i could line up the antenna correctly.

we think alike... ok, so what do you mean by cutting #8 to line up the antenna? do you mean to get it vertically? It would be great if you can post some pics.

I had pretty bad reception with my S2K conversion. till RStoR told me what to do. Reception is far better now but not as good as the stock antenna. IM him for more details he is a very nice guy.
when you buy #3 you get everything you need (#s: 4,7,8,6,15,5)
#8 is a plastic ring that has a piece sticking out of the bottom. the bottom piece is what i cut off, leaving the "ring" intact. I'll see if i have pics on my PC at home tonight and i'll also snap a pic or 2 on my car. Also, I have the antenna sitting at a slight angle much like on the S2K rather than sitting straight up.
