Default Someone with a Helm manual please help me out!!!

OK I PROMISE I'll go buy my own Helm manual, I'll even order it tonight, but what I REALLY need is the calibration info for the engine coolant temp sensors; if it's just a particular resistance at 100C or any other info... I pulled both sensors near the upper radiator hose but I don't have target values to check against... any help would be muuuuch appreciated!!! It's a '96 GSR in case you were wondering.

Default Don't lie, get the Helms

All degrees in Centigrade and resistance in Ohms
120C = 0.1 Ohms
100C = 0.25 Ohms
80 C = 0.35 Ohms
60 C = 0.5 Ohms
40 C = 1.0 Ohms
20 C = 2.5 Ohms
0 C = 5.0 Ohms
120C = 20 Ohms

Alright - thanks a lot for the assist. And just so you know I am on the Helm website right now punching in my CC#; I know I need this thing.

I just checked mine... I'm not sure which one is the right one to be testing; on the passenger side of the cylinder head there are two sensors; one is a single-wire and the other is two wires... both are in KILOohms, not ohms though...

Results:

One Wire Two Wire
0C 2.5 Kohms 6.08 Kohms
100C 55 ohms 180 ohms

Clearly this isn't the same as the specs you gave; the two-wire is at least in the neighborhood if you meant Kilo-ohms; if it's actually supposed to be in Ohms, I'm in serious trouble... Any ideas? Am I being a total jackass and testing the wrong sensors entirely?

You are correct should be in K Ohms, sorry. Now if you had that Helms you couldn't blame me! The two wire numbers look good and are likely within +/- tolerances. Sorry I don't have numbers for the single wire sensor sensor at home, only my 93 Integra manual.

I was actually thinking they're pretty significantly off from the values you gave, but still doesn't seem like it should be a problem as long as they're consistent. Anyway the Helm manual is on the way; I really did order it tonight; but with their "one day processing, one day loading, one day counting our money, and however long UPS cares to take to send it to you" I was grateful to find someone willing to throw me some numbers. Thanks.

Try here, sometimes the pics don't come up, but you can get most of what you need. http://www.autolibrary.org/
