how many people use sandwich plates for oil feed?

how many people use sandwich plates for oil feed?
do alot of you guys use sandwich plates (inbetween your filter and block) to get a feed to your turbo? or do you guys link off the oil pressure sensor? I got a sandwich plate just having doubts about it that all.
