Default Laws in California

So i finally moved back to California and am scared everytime i see a cop. I'm afraid they will pull me over and give me tickets for all my parts. I was hoping to go turbo within the next couple of months but now it looks like a change of plans. Coule someone inform me a little better with the laws here on modifying my car and is it ok to go turbo let alone have an exhaust on my car?

basically I think by now the only thing "legal" to do is a cat back exhuast modification. All else including swapping a air filter is "technically illegal" and they can give you a legit ticket for it. May it be a simple fix it ticket, its still a ticket. Most other mods will need a CARB number to be "legal" although many "illegal" mods will still allow your car to pass emission tail pipe test legit.

Unless the turbo kit is CARB aproved its illegal. You can be sent to the referee for stuff like that. Thats California...

as long as it is carb-legal... cops wont try to fuq you over. if they do an underhood inspection and see that you have turbo and all that other illegal shiet, there is a most likely chance you will get handed a ref ticket or get towed. as long as you dont bring attention to yourself or have an extremely loud exhaust... you should be able to roam the streets without getti harrassed. a loud exhaust or any kind of obvious illegal modification will attract cops.

go turbo at your own will... if you end up having to take it off or whatsoever, then at least you had turbo and enjoyed the darkside of forced induction.

TURBO OWNZ!

isn't the Greddy kit legal if you don't add an intercooler or BOV?

from my experiences in cali....

it doesn't matter if it's carb legal or not. they'll screw u over if they want. it's just ur time wasted fighting in court proving ur case.
