Possible to get a 94 GSR body down to 2000-2200 lbs?
Im just curious if i can get my 94 GSR bodied integra down to low 2000lbs range. I am at 2400lbs even, without me in it. All i have in it now is both airbags, both driver and passenger seat belts, shell in the back that is for holding up the panels, two reclinable racing seats, A/C, P/S, CF hood, no panels, and i still have the sunroof and head liner in also. Just something i am wondering....TIA...
basically you will have to get rid of that, replace windows with lexan and probly take out bumber supports and stuff like that. It would be close but it would be very hard to get it down to 2000.
P.S honda seats are pretty light so the gains weight wise would be negligable

you could do it. In order to do so...i would involve fiberglass, lexan windows, and a plasma cutter to get rid off all the extra stuff u dont need. Could also look into a solid rear axle-If you like that idea- not a really big fan on them but friends have used them and love it..so its up to you
So how much do you think I would drop if i take out both airbags, airbag sensors under floor mats, shell in the back that hold up panels, heater core behind glove compartment, A/C, P/S, all the lines, take out sunroof/motor and replace with a type of lexan glass, C/F hatch with lexan glass, and a C/F or different type of fuel cell and take out the gas tank underneath the car? Does that sound like a plan to yall?...
not a gsr but i have a itr. it weighs 2200lbs w/o me.
full glass. no fiberglass or cf parts. stock door with door panels.
just take out a/c system, p/s system, rear seats, passenger seat, air bags (covers still there), bumper supports (real heavy), that frame reel pieces right behind the driver/passender seat floor, rear panels, spare tires and all the crap.
car still appears stock and is streetable. i am doing cf hood an fiberglass trunk.
should save another 50lbs there.

I was able to reduce the weight of my 1995 integra RS done to 1950 without driver. With me it would be 2100 lbs.
I removed all items that could be unbolted that were not a necessity. I did however have skinned doors and a hatch; both with lexan windows. However if the doors and hatch were stock i estimate the car to be 2050-2100 lbs w/o driver. However if this was a full set of bogart slicks and skinnies i would think the car would weigh in the neighborhood of 2000 lbs with the full doors and hatch.

i cant see you getting a gsr that low.. unless your start removing the glass and installing fiberglass body parts. my RS weighs more than that and i dont even have abs, or a sun roof. i took out the bumper supports , airbags, the a/c and the rear interior. i do have a roll bar in the car though, but that only weighs about 80lbs. after all that the car still weighs about 2200 lbs alone.
