i got a new 00 civic
well i just got my friends old 00 civic ex today.. she blew her engine by cracking her oil pan over a bump in the city. it's pretty damaged so all i gotta do is swap in a new long block. the best part about the whole thing is i got the car for free! 
i'm gonna have it towed to my house tomorrow and i'll take some pics of it.

oh yeah she made 2 rules if i'm gonna get the car for free... i'm not allowed to sell it, and i can't put any area 51 stickers on it hahaha.. her ex bf is the nor cal a51 vp.

yup the air bags deployed cuz the bump hit the car so hard.

We had a turbo D16 blow on the chassis dyno with a smaller hole in the pan/block.
worth every cent you paid though! Time for coilover suspension and a turbo....hehe

well the oil pan actually hit the bump.. cuz it was like a sewer hole sticking up higher than the concrete and the oil pan just ran into so it ripped it off there.

haha i think they'll give me new plates and the dmv when i go to register it.

you got a better deal than you think!
tell the city what happened, and they will most likely pay for it.
there was another post on this, some guy messed up his car on a open man hole or whatever in the middle of the road. and the city payed for it. sounds like the same type of situation. see what the city can do to help the project along
