Vortech shredding belts
Anyone else have a problem with a Vortech supercharger running on a 2000 Civic SiR (Si for y'all 'mericuns)? This is the aftercooled kit, with the smallest charger pulley Vortech makes, plus a CR-V crankshft pulley to spin it yet even faster. The car runs great (274 WHP after only 1 hour of tuning (Hondata 4B, no FMU here) I should say, runs great as long as the damn belt stays together. The belts seem to only last for about a month. Vortech does NOT provide a proper belt tension for the damn thing. Anybody have a belt tension that they know works? And yes, we do have a proper Honda/Nippondenso belt tension gauge. We have been setting the belt to about 80kg when new. We are also using the best brand of belts we can find (Bando, the same brand as Honda OEM belts) So don't suggest going with a Gates or Goodyear belt, been there tried that, and they only lasted about 45 minutes each)
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I think that belt is too small that comes standard in the Vortech Kit which I believe is 6 rib, maybe you need to step it up to a 8 rib and get a kit like this one offered by payntech---> https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=369726
Damn, gotta get better at my searches, shoulda found that one. That should help immensly. Too bad we had already upgraded all the pulleys to run the higher boost already (14psi) Oh well, it's the customers money, not mine
Although, after further inspection, I just noticed on their site that A/C and P/S must both be REMOVED for the 8 rib set up. DUH!
The one belt drives the charger, P/S and A/C. This is not gonna work as the car is a daily driver. The customer would not be willing to get rid of his A/C.
