Default Need D16 help.

Lol let me start off by saying I don't want a swap or F/I. I'm still paying off my civic, paying for school and other bills but I still want to fiddle around with the engine just for kicks, not really looking for speed cause I use my dad's 325 IS when i wanna race.

Lol But I do need help because with my stock LX engine I have already put AEM pullies, AEM cam gear, Injen CAI, Dc 4-2-1 headers, took he cat out with a 2/14 custom menderal bend exhaust.

All im looking for now is a cam shaft, throttle body *cause it still points up*. I was wondering a good website to find those things and other internal's i need to help my civic. It's also an automatic bare in mind.

Flames, Opinions and advice welcomed. Thanks in advance

You sure your LX has a D16 engine and not a D15? I had an LX and did a D16z6 swap to get the engine. Edlebrock has a nice throttle body but I think it's like 300 dollars. It's got some bling though!

I'd put the money towards school and pay it off faster. Or save it for when you break pop's bimmer.

Ok I think you guys are thinking he's running a 5-speed. He's auto. The dx and ex auto's are pretty much the same thing.

That throttle body sounds a little large and expensive. I, personally would try a used 60mm b-series first before spending that kind of money. Also, you might want to try some d16a1 rods and pistons. The rods are stronger and the pistons will bump up c/r.

will the stock sensors and everything work on it? I realize that my old throttle body had the throttle body cable on the right side, since if i get a new intake that will be laying flat , will i be able to use the same cable? I know it sounds stupid i just figured i'd have to prolly get a long one, prolly of a EX.

I honestly don't know if you would be able to use your old cable. I'm going to guess and say no because that is the worst case scenario. And if you can't, a new cable from honda is only about $15(that's what I paid for a new ITR cable).

the onlt TB you can use on your motor is the one it came with it. The Y7 has a differant IACV plug that the other Honda TB's. IF you convert over to a EX ECU, and wirinh harness, then you will be able to run a B series TB.

You can easily convert over to the Y8 intake manifold. TO do it you need to swap your Y7 throttle rotor, and spring for the one on a Y8 TB. Your stock throttle cable will work, just don't use the mount on it that is located on the valve cover
