Just droppped a new motor into my 93 lx accord and tried to start it up, but it seem the motor wants to push the exhaust thru the intake(almost like backfiring), and then shuts down. Everything is hooked up and plugged in cant seem to figure it out;although when we swapped out distributors we were supposed to turn the rotor inside the cap to cylinder one, the only thing i can think of is that we had it pointed to cylinder four so the firing sequence is off. Note: smoke seems to be rising from header area, not much but noticeable!

Check that the wires are in the correct order and the cap is on correctly. Double check the timing on the crack and cam also.
