question h22a or b16a which to choose...?
ive been doing some research and i want to do an engine swap. im driving a 2000 ex auto. im looking to do an engine swap and tranny swap. i dont know which to go with. the b16a fits right into my car. with this engine i can keep my A/C and power steering. with the H22a im scaraficing that. i know there is a big power difference with both engines. but it seems that most people go with the B16 because it is easier to find parts for it. im also looking to fully rebuild the engine and i was just wondering how much do they do in the 1/4 with a fully built b16 and fully built H22a. wiring wise, is the b16 easier to wire up and not have many problems with it? and i was just wondering wut do u guys think i should go with. im doing the swap this fall.
Please do a search.
The B16A would be a more "bolt-in" swap but you'll need to buy the HASport auto-5 speed conversion mount.
The H22A swap may or may not be possible with a mount kit because I'm not sure if anyone offers an auto chassis mount for the swap, but you can try http://www.hasport.com or look up Place Racing and H.C.P as well and call them.
Stock for stock the H22A would murder the B16a at any rpm range - period.
If you want general H22a info I suggest you look in the Hybrid forum and do a search under both recent and archived topics under "H22A" and see what you get.
