check engine problem????

Default check engine problem????

i have a 90 crx SI basically all stock besides the aem short ram... but anywayz when i start my car everything is OK but i guess when im on the freeway or after about 5-10 minutes of driving my check engine light comes on but the car still drives the same... but if i shut the car off and restart it the check engine light isnt there but of course after dirving it for a while it turns back on... any ideas of what it could be???? any help would be nice thanks.................

Next time don't shut the car off before you check the ecu. I have had many people that had the same problem as you, mostly after they drove on the high way there check engine light came on. Half of the time its the 02 sensor.

i have had the same problem...and i do think it has to do with the airflow(o2) sensor, because after i got a new cat and new exhaust i havent seen it come on...so check your airflow and sensor...

same with my 89 hatch drove a while turned on, turn off the car no ligh. replace o2 for cheap all is good

uhhh.. yeah, you need to check which code it's throwing. This is done by pulling the carpet on your front passenger side back, and watching the little red flashes. When the light is on, do this, and tell us the number that it shows. A long sustained flash equals 10, and a short flash is 1. So for example if it went long-short-short, that's a 12. A short-short-short-short is a 4. Hope that helps, and until you do that, and report back, all we can do is guess.
