Hey guys,
I've been on this site for quite some time now and I've been mainly a Civic and Integra guy up til now. I recently sold my 95 Integra and will be picking up a 93 Prelude VTEC this week. I just had some questions maybe you guys could help me out with:

1) What were the interior differences between the 92-93 and 94-95 Preludes? I'm looking into buying a complete leather interior off a 95 Prelude from another member and know that the location of the mirror switch was moved from the drivers side door panel to the dash but is there anything else I should be aware of in terms of fitment for the rest of the interior?

2) How much is a complete leather interior (door panels, rear panels, front/rear seats) worth anyways? I know how much GSR leather interiors go for but don't know anything about the market for Preludes.

3) The 93 Prelude VTEC I'm getting has the factory 7 speaker system with the subwoofer in the middle of the rear seats. The car has no armrest however but I've noticed other Preludes have them. If I'm not mistaken the non-VTEC Si's had the armrest but no center subwoofer. If I wanted to get an armrest for my car, would I be forgoing the center subwoofer or can both be used at the same time? And are there different armrests depending on the model/year?

Sorry for all the questions but I'd appreciate whatever responses you guys can provide. I've tried the search function but didn't really come up with much.

good choice. i sold my 94 integra and bought a 93 lude. i've had it since february and i have no complaints. well, except for the lack of cup holders.

you shouldn't have any problems with swapping the interior. i haven't done it, but i'm pretty sure its a bolt on affair. The only problem you may have is if you got the drivers center console. If so you have to move the emergency brake mounting points over to accomadate the new console. try a search, i know theres a write up in the archives.

if you are talking about the drivers armrest then there won't be any affect on the center sub. i believe the 94-96 ludes had the armrest, but it may be just the si's. i have a family friend that has a 93 prelude s and she doesn't have the armrest. So, i believe it was 94-96 that have them, not model specific.

if i'm wrong about this then someone speak up, but regardless good luck with the lude and welcome.

 

OK I did some more research and I've learned that the 92-93 Preludes have different center consoles than the 94-96 Preludes with the latter having a relocated mirror switch, a relocated emergency brake and the addition of a cupholder and smaller more traditional armrest.

Not wanting to go through the hassles of replacing the entire console, I've decided to look for the longer armrest that extends to the rear seat (out of a 92-93 Prelude Si if I'm not mistaken) (pic borrowed from member chidoks - hope you don't mind)

My question now is, is the 92-93 Prelude SI armrest able to be used WITH the factory center subwoofer that comes on the 93 Prelude VTEC?
