nice job. I'm not paying 200+ bucks for an tube with a filter. I'm gonna make mine outta 4" aluminum piping. gonna polish the inside of it for better flow and gonna mod the air box in the fender well, prolly just build a custom one.

I have the Iceman personally. Never used anything else so I can't compare.

People making your own. Please do yourself a favor and never use PVC!

Why not PVC? Heat issue? Melting issue? I have a DC DAC that I added a couple small pieces onto it so I could make it a cold air system with the filter in the bumper.

PVC when heated emits Chlorine amongst other gasses that are bad news for your engine. (short answer)
If you want a PVC similar get what is known as ABS. It looks like PVC but is black. That would work fine.

Hmmm, I guess that is what I have, the black stuff. It is only at the very end of my intake, off the end of the DC aluminum piping, maybe a total of 8-10" long before the filter. I doubt it gets very warm behind the battery.

AEM cold air is the best on the market.

If you design your own, make sure to keep in mind some materials do not dissapate heat as well as others do.

Modified stock intake w/Spoon/K&N filter. There is a guy producing over 230 WHP all motor using a modified stock intake so it cant be that bad. Also the Type S is OK.

I recently changed from an AEM back to a modified stock with a stock filter right now and the "butt dyno" doesnt seem to show any difference but well see when i put in on the real dyno again.Seems to have better throttle response and more low end.
