Shaved top/roof moldings ? anyone w/ pics on a EG ?
Came to nothing with the Search button. Anyone has some shaved top/roof molding (beside where the antenna belong)?
for those who want to flame on...i am not asking this cause i want to shave everything on my car...just because a 10 yrs. old civic from Quebec, Canada, may have some rust problem soon cause of the 2m of snow every winter. This spot is particulary rusty on most civic out there. i want to prevent that, and i tought shaving would be a solution.
thanks a lot !

It is what it is... I really do t know why I started doing it. Was bored one day and wanted to work on the hatch and I figured I haven't seen it done so I just started cutting and welding.

Cracked? How much bondo did you use? Lol. I've seen this done on other cars and hold up the life of the car. Guess there are other variables though.

Bingo. If strut tower braces and such are used it will be even worse. Those parts will have no flex and other areas will be even more affected by this. And not to rag but there is no penetration on the welds. Sheetmetal is hard though without a good welding rig. It burns easily. It won't kill you here but don't try welding anything your life might depend on.
I find it interesting that people call this rice, and yet it's perfectly ok to do exactly the same thing in an engine bay? Sometimes smooth is smooth and that's all you want.
