Default BIG NOTE of Gratitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JOEL (pigpen) you are the FREAKING MAN!!!!
note....i called joel at 4 pm on saturday.....asked him if he would go to the shop and start on pulling my daily driver turbo b20vtec setup out of my car. with out hesitation he said YES.

MARC TRAN...for the CTR PISTONS for the second engine!

IAN THANK YOU FOR THE CAMS they are packed up and ready to go back to you.

DANIEL, YOUR HARD WORK makes it worth it all!!!!!!!!! thanks for your help not only this time but on all the other engines.....

GREG THANKS for helping!!!

BRIAN THANKS for stopping by after reading (on HT by the way) that we were at the shop doing something stupid.

DAVE what can i say.....thanks for the ride, the room at your house, for keeping a positive outlook after all the hurrdles we've had to jump, for wanting to continue on and believing in my driving ability

JASON AND TAMMY For offering me a place to stay and then saying you'd tow me all the way to charleston....WOW....i'm really speechless still.....

ROBERT (show kaa bobby) You have no idea how much time you save me on sunday by towing my car to tam's and jasons place....thank you

HUNTER- thank you for being willing to let me run your car....

TODD RIED- thanks for the plugs!! will see you at lowes

thanks to all those who offered a hand or verbal support at the track.....

NASA- great event.....i just wish i could have been out there more.....

So on to the story.....

dateline
wednsday, engine parts arrive....assemble engine and get it in the car and running at 230 am.....

thursday.....get up at 7 am, have to pack tools clothes...everything...have dyno time scheduled for 1 pm in columbia.....then on to jason and tammy's

friday up at 5 am to head to test and tune at vir.....first session just take it easy make sure everything is ohkay....maybe had 2 hours of seat time not really pushing the car just making sure everything is good....

saturday....up at 6 am head to track.....first lap after warm up.....car dies.....get towed in we pull the head and another valve dropped....dang it i'm really depressed at this time....investigate and find that valve broke in half right below the retainer......mechanical failure.....we decide that we will stick around and at least watch the HC race.....after race MATT comes up to me and jokingly states "you gonna go get you daily driver and come back?" LIGHT POPS in my head.....wow....why didn't i think of that.....oh yeah after our car died we went and installed a head on james depino's type r.....so i hunt down dave and say...hey lets go back and get my car and come back.....he says instead of swapping all the race car parts we should just swap engines....so we decide that is what we will do....on the way home we decided the best way to do that was to have someone pull the engine and have it sitting there for us....there joel comes into the picture....call him up and he said sure.....we had our doubts that he'd be able to do it by himself in such a short time....but he did....but we needed cams cause i sold mine 2 weeks ago once the turbo went on.....ian had a set of B's laying around...called him and at first he was NO...then after some coaxing he agreed.....

we, dave, daniel and i arrive at the shop at 10:10......engine out and sitting on the floor.....i start working on my engine ripping turbo off and pulling new oil pan and cams in....greg shows up and starts helping, then brian shows up and helps.....after all is said and done.... car fired at 2 am.....i was on the road at 245....

sunday 8 am....arrive at Virginia International Raceway.....go to jeimports to tune car on dyno....car was WAY LEAN....i mean as in like 17 to 1 ....good thing i didn't do any pulls on the way up....haha....car was tuned in in under an hour....180 hp and 126 tq....on a dyno jet....that's more than i've ever put down (in the b20),...did some pulls in the paddock and car was fast....holy cow was it fast! still i haven't had any sleep in 29 hours now....decide to skip practice and just mentally prepare for qualifing and race....get ready to go out with john w and jason. we line up an hour early to get front row....after a lap i went off at 7.....then same lap go off at hog pen.....track was greasy....decided while in my 110 mph drift that i need to pack it up and go home...i was in no way mentally or physically to go ***** to the wall for 30 minutes.....half way through my 200 yard drift i lifted and was about to give the spin/drift up.....then i planted my foot.....and pulled right out of it.....somewhere between getting back on track and entering pit in engine spun a bearing (or so i thought ends up being #2 and #3 gone) park car.

depressed
dejected i was bout to throw in the towel.....

called my mom got some things off my chest.....
called dave and he told me we'd rebuild

i packed up and watch HC race.....it was a great race....lots of CLOSE CLEAN RACING WAS DONE BY ALL.....

over all i'm glad my engine went out on sunday....cause i would have drove in the race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i was in no way capable of that.....so....we will be back....maybe not stronger....maybe in another class....watch out h4!!!!!

YALL don't know who your true friends are until it comes to CRUNCH TIME, and these above people went beyond the call of duty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I THANK YOU DEEPLY FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!! and i know it hurts you just as much as me when we didn't win on sunday!

Thank you all, as well! The positive outlook is what keeps me going! No sense in having any other!

No problem Chad. Glad I could help. When I realized what had happened I figured I would be the only one who could help with your situation. Having a street-legal Race Car pays off again. That's what friends are for. See you at Lowe's, if not before (Car Guys maybe).

Hey Chad, sorry to hear about the bad luck. Believe me, I know how it feels...

I killed my motor too. Turns out one of the liners cracked when the head was torqued down. It's a clean break all the way around the middle of the liner, and it's sunk about 10 thou.

p.s. Thanks again for the shift linkage.
