Bridging the gap between racing series and general update from VIR...
Just wanted to say thanks to Corey, Morgan and Willard for taking the time to have a beer with some of the 944 people. Free beer and the KingRat certainly makes the trip over a little easier but thank you regardless. Spending time with those that you're not on track with isn't always the easiest thing but it's greatly appreciated. Now if I can only get the 944 guys to do the same.
Some highlights from our series this weekend:
-FIVE guys got their licenses on Friday and were on track with us this weekend
-record high 28 944s, including 5 Super Cup cars
-the Joker's throttle got stuck at 75% open going into 3 but driver was unhurt after hitting the armco at a reported 80 mph
-9 breakdowns during the course of the weekend (Porsche reliability at it's best) including a broken timing belt, 2 broken shift linkages, broken alternator, general overheating, DME relay, broken spindle, destroyed CV joint and a clutch. The clutch was the only car not to make it back on track... amazing.
-I fell on my *** off the ATV, Corey and Morgan witnessed it so I had to out myself before they did. Big man leaning back on little ATV and pushing the throttle from a standstill = bad balance.
Three months until I'm back on track and I'm already counting the days.
P.S. - Willard's thoughts on why he only took one beer...
Willard (4:45 PM 8/4/2003): me = sissy
edit: Damn, almost forgot... the late addition of a trophy girl by way of a 944 Cup driver's girlfriend.

I wasn't gonna say anything about the 4 wheeler flip but damn that was hilarious........... if we only had a camera
you 944 guys seem like you always have a good time as a group and it can be a draw to some people like me, I always enjoy hanging out and BS-ing with people who live it up
