hehe thats mph not rpm's

Just for reference, on 2.0+ liter, 14:1 (or higher) compression race motors simply swapping the Skunk 3's out for Spec D's was worth 12-15 hp. All depends on the setup.

thats a good effort comparing the cams that I'm sure many will appreciate ... I still bet on the Toda cams though, on the cars I tune I notice different results when comparing Toda vs Skunk2 ... nothing biased here either cause even Endyn is really impressed with Skunk2 cams, so I gave the Skunk2 and Jun fair shots but I'm really impressed with Toda D cams and the Killer cams ... unfortunately I guess I'm the only one that sees good results with Toda cams
maybe its the combinations of headers and head porters that I use ? I dunno.
Well, either way this is a good informative trend

Bingo, all depends on the setup. Got to have an _integrated_ engine building approach - too many people mix and match whatever looks best this week. I've seen some street cars make really awesome power on Skunk 3's, and some others do not so well with basically the same setup. Makes me glad I don't have to decide on parts (or build the motor), only tune up the combo that the customer brings me

this is one of the most real comments i've seen in a while
... very true on this, but try explaining that to some people who don't understand some of the dynamics of these motor setups.

i believe that with more compression the toda D would outperform the skunks2's
the overlap of the D's just killed the compression
the motor was built for the street and milder cams suit it better.
with more compression i wouldnt have to close off some of the overlap(ex. cam was advanced like 8 deg.), graph would be higher and it would peak at higher rpm ...so it could of made 15hp differance.
each cam has to be matched to the right set up and D's are top dog for all out monster comp. motors...no doubt

Depends on the tranny and what size wheel/tire combo hes running.

No matter how you slice it, those are very nice numbers for all motor. I have not given up on the 'D's yet; building a higher compression motor to try and get these cams to work. On my engine, the 'D's kill down low, at about 3,000 rpm the tires just break loose and spin-street tires , very mild take-off, then full throttle at about 2,000 rpm. It is up top, when those huge VTEC lobes engage, that my motor does not really perform all that well. Work still to be done. Just love these kind of posts, good info
Cheers to Jeff and Greg for taking the time and putting forth the effort to give us this info

the graph is cute. Its about time someone did those cams some justice, however I still think that is more that can be achieved from them, maybe more compression.. the overlap is rediculous on D's....13.5 is alot, maybe 14:1 next

i'd be interested in seeing some graphs and what not of motors in the 14:1 range
