damn gorillas
heres my problem. i was putting my rims back on when my key to my gorilla lugs pratically broke in half. i ahd the locking lugs that are 4 per wheel, not just one per wheel. since it broke there is no way to tighten the lugs tight enough to drive on them. i do not have the number to get another key. will someone elses key work.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
get another set of gorillas
put on stock nuts
get some kyokugen
sorry if this thread is confusing this is my first thread

mugen lugs own jOO. best nuts evar!! the kyokugen or whatever have problems with the keys stripping. splinedrive's also supposedly have this problem, though i've never had them, sooo..... the skunk2's are nice, but i believe they are open-ended for use with extended lugs.
open ended are the way to go IMO, because theives can hit the center of a closed-ended lugnut with a punch and split it right off. fu*k that ish

Yeah - Gorilla Lugs are NO probs @ all-- a socket wrench will remove yoru lugs w/ no probs @ all!! (retail for about $25)
Now me I have McGard Lugs - when u looz tha key to those u have to get them drilled off - Because McGard was smart, they make like 30diff sets & there is no way to tell what set u have w/o tha code on the key.. if u looz tha key thats it.. cant get your rims off w/o drilling. (retail for about $75)

I have Muteki and have no probs.. See if you use a torque wrench and don't tighten at a friggin angle
then you should have no problems with the key stripping/breaking or the lugs stripping..
The only reason people have trouble with ANY lug nuts is because they are dumb asses and don't use proper torque specs.
And open end lug nuts are just great.. if you want the lugs to rust to your stud..

so heres the cliffnotes of my story
i had a set of gorilla closed ended and was putting them back on and the key split in half. i paid 10 for another key and i tightened them down and on the last lug the new key split in half. now i just got another key from discount for free but i haven't used it.

The problem is not with the keys or lug nuts, it's usually user error. If you take the time to do things properly, things won't break. I've never had a problem with lugs.
