Default OT: Those that stayed at the new Sleep Inn near VIR

Would you recommend staying there for a weekend down there, or is it too far from conveniences like dinner or supplies?

Next to Advance, WinnDixie, carwash, gas stations... nice, clean rooms. I'm a fan!

I was impressed. Everything was new and clean. I think it took me 10-15 minutes from there to the VIR Gate.

Yes, though they didn't have scrambled eggs, what's up with that? Did anybody try the waffle maker?

Oh, big for the place...

They did have FREE Fast-ethernet internet access.

My mom even liked it (and she's neurotic about cleanliness)

Oh yeah. Waffle maker worked fine. Pour the mix in, flip, wait for the beep, and waffles!

Sleep Inn:

Closer
Newer
Cleaner
Cheaper
Hot tub

Did I miss anything?

It's only 5 miles closer, but the road is SO FREAKING HORRIBLE right there at the Dan River plant it's a pleasure not to drive that section anymore.

It stinks...no 2 bed rooms available for the 14th, 15th and 16th nights. Looks like Comfort Inn & Suites will have to do. Thanks for the input, I'll certainly book early next time.

FYI:
Call the day before you want to stay because hotels usually have a few rooms they hold in reserve in case the large booking for the weekend needs a few more rooms. With NASA's situation, they let those rooms go Thursday afternoon. I didn't know they did this until Thursday when I attempted to add one more room and they had one available.
