Usually when a engine blows its not major. With Fored induction (BOOST) the ring glands on the rings skirt tend to crack or break which causes lack or compression and poor idleing.smoke will occur also. Honda cast pistons are known to be very weak. Some nice forged slugs suck as ARIAS, CP, ENDYNE, JE, ROSS or WIESCO do the trick.

How about a timing controller that listens for the onset of knock, then retards before any damage can occur?

I haven't had the pleasure yet but in about a month I will have my full race kit installed on a stock motor for now with AEM EMS so I'm sure I will have something new to post on this thread...........................

1. Ring Lands went on #3 after boosting for a year
2. Wrist pin lock came off #2
3. Spun bearing or bent rod on #4
And 2 Trans.
All these mishaps were in a three year span.
