We are cooking this little treat up for a 97 Prelude/Automatic. The name of the game here is antireversion quick spoolup collector. This setup will spool your turbo 500 rpms sooner. Wait until you see the intercooler. No huge volume FMIC here. I will keep you all posted on the progress of this project. FYI the tranny is all
Level-10

WEl first off let me say that Level-10 is by no means inexpensive. More or less they take your converter and send it to ProTorque. From there Protorque rebuilds your converter, tweasking your the blades on your stator (sort of like clipping a turbo) and the perform some anti ballooning fixes to the housing. The tranny is totally rebuilt with much stronger clutches and friction plates, they tweak the valve body for more heat control and a bit higher line pressures, they also reprogram the tranny's ECU.

That is a T3/T4E custom trim from Innovative turbo. The motor has 83 miles on it after a full rebuild (JE pistons, Crower rods, Darton sleeves, Ferreia valves, Ect.). I have had Level-10 products before with no issues, but I will kep you all informed, Also on the race program we are planning on 1.5Bar.

so where exactly is antireversion incorporated into your manifold?
why is the collector and the flange set off to an angle?

not sure about everyone else, but i wouldn't put too much trust into level-10. friend used to run a 98 3.0cl with a 2001 cl type s swap. custom intake manifold because the stock type s hit the hood, dfi, built level ten tranny. he had the external box you could shift the tranny with. tranny would chirp second gear at only 2000rpm. car was back at level-10 no less then 3 times within the first month.

you shold post this up in the fi forum where you will find plenty of opinions on your set-up.

Comments like this come from folks that don't know. I will be sure to post the results of what real science can do. This anti reversion collector has been in use in the Porsche arena for years now and has produce a solid torque curve sonner and longer than convention equal length manifolds. Torque is what wins races, HP is what sells cars and parts.

Here is a pic of this collector design on a 930 slantnose turbo.

And here is a pic of the collector on our killer S4

And here is the dyno plot on the S4. Look at that quick and flat torque curve

not exactly... HP is a measurement of torque at a certain RPM, that's all. Low-end torque is great for towing, etc, but the early shifts hurt. You want high-end torque where you can keep the revvs up (like indy cars for example), and that translates into a higher HP rating since it can be the same torque # as a 2500 RPM point but located up at 9000 RPM's

Bumparoo!

For anyone thinking my comment above was negative, it was an inside joke between blitzkrieg and myself. These manifold designs are very impressive, the amount of time, money and r&d put into these is simply amazing...

I just may be using one myself, one day... I also may be driving a porsche, one day...

thats why a type R is 0.8 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile with a 1 ft/lb advantage over the GS-R, right?

definition of HP = WORK PERFORMED

Wouldn't gearing have some relativity, weight too?

how will this spool up the turbo 500rpms sooner?? this is compared to what?? So basically you will cut out two triangles to fill the space??? It just seems kinda abrupt to me. I think the wastegate placement should go into the middle. But that's just my 2 cents.
