Hard Charger!
I just made this post to say thanks. I had no idea that you guys were gonna give the "RoadRaceGear.com" Hard Charger award to me. I had to walk outside afterwards becuase I almost broke down and cryed. I do not know if any award I ever recieve from now on can top this one, even a first place. I have never been speechless in my life until that evening. You guys are great.
So to everyone out there with me and all of you who have nothing but positive things to say thanks. I could not be happier to race with you guys and will continue to do so as long as god and the bank allow me.
If I ever have any doubts about what I am doing I will remember this point in time where the support from my friends and competitors made me rise to the occassion.
Morgan - who had to pass cars any and everywhere on Saturday to keep Shultz in his rearview for a while.
Also a huge
to NASA-VA and the Cobettos for putting a top notch event for being the biggest filed they have ever had.

Morgan,
The award could not have been more deserved! You passed what, 11 cars? That is an incredible achievement, and one that you should be very proud of. I'm still amazed at how long it took me to catch you in an H1 car! I'm really glad to have you in the field with us.

you did great, Morgan!
it was nice sharing some track with you after that "Days of Thunder" start on Sun. man, i thought i was going to Tbone the black CRX; just barely missed him. then couldn't get back on the track (no one let me in!)... boo hoo
then the battle with that fu$%#&! M6. he was blocking everywhere in the turns and a rocket down the straight. you got to see quite a bit of that, i think. i was relieved when he finally lost it and exited stage right going up the hill....
looking forward to Lowes more than ever!!!!!

Speaking of hard charging, does anybody have video of Corey and I coming through the field from the back of the grid at the start of Saturday's race? I would LOVE to see how that looked from the outside...

A two door M5 from the mid to late 80's.
I think the one in question is a 635CSI with a nasty idle sound.

The Car in questions belongs to Kempton Shields, he has been running with NASA for a while with that car... pretty cool
But back on topic, Morgan, where did you pass most of the people on Saturday? on the start or just moving up through out the race? I was havign a hard time keeping track of 50 some odd cars as the annoucer.. my hear was spinning... it was easier to keep track of cars on sunday, when the split the spec miata's out of the field.

Nice job Morgan.
One of my fleeting thoughts during Sunday's race: "Hey, there's Morgan in front of me. When the heck did he pass me?"
Probably in T1 when I had to stop and take 1st gear!
It's that stealth machine accord. Kinda sneaks up on you!

Haha, I had so much fun I did not want to stop being timed so I left with my transponder.
Mike I passed you in 1 when the bottle neck took place. I was on the outside and basically floored it and shot through several cars. I made about 10 or 11 spots right there.
I really wish I had video. I made several passes in the end of roller coaster. Once I went three wide to get past a BMW and the spec RX-7 that were side by side.
If I learned anything this weekend it is that traffic management can make or break you in a race. Getting by traffic faster than the guy behind you means a world of difference. Ask some of those guys who were behind me about it. I am sure the corner worker in 14 got a hell of a show when I passed Lockwood 4 off in the small kink to the left before roller coaster at about 85 mph.

Morgan, You made my day! Thanks.
Saturday evening we were determining the winner of H-charger and my wife said.... " I think Morgan was the one who really made up the most spots".
I (we) took our findings over to Karl and Jason and told them. Both smiled real big and said "perfect!" We kept it kinda hush-hush and only told Chris C.
The look on your face was priceless when Chris called out your name. Your jaw dropped open and both fists went pumping in the air!! It was the best!
Enjoy your first W-2-W trophy.... I know it won't be your last.

In front of Shultz?
The rookie?
In an Accord?
At VIR?
Well ****. I guess I gotta come to Lowes and remind Rice how to drive a damned race car. Or maybe just bring a bat and beat that monkey on his back to death.
Or maybe just give him a swift kick in the ***.

Scott - don't know if you heard, but your old GSR was damaged in Sunday's race.
Driver was ok, but the car looked pretty bent. Driver spun (after contact?) on the front straight and went nose first into the pit wall.
Anybody get a close look at the car? Was the frame tweaked?
