Default Question about brake pads

Got something for you guys to chew on, I just bought some Axxis metal matrix brake pads to replace my OEM pads. Now, I was told to go ahead and have my rotors turned when I put the new pads on. I really wanted to do this myself and not have the hassle of having to pay someone to do a job I know I can do, but I cannot turn the rotors myself. Any ideas guys? Should i go ahead and pay to have it done?

And in addition to this, I just called a place, they said to turn the rotors for the front would be 60 bucks and the rear is 70 bucks. I have 78,000 miles on my car, is it going to be necessary for me to do this? I hate to think i have to drop so much cash on this when i really can't afford it right now.

I found a machine shop that will do them for 10 bucks a piece, for future notice never go to one of those chain tire places, they are waaaay to overpriced.
