Default Shift Cables seem to be too short(H22 Swap)!

*The cables are too short followed pics from other searches cut holes but very tight against the rear bracket and the rack. Cut the hole for the cables to run at the edge of the two bolts holding the center of the dashboard in.

*Any others pics or ways to run the cables?

what are you doing? b-series into a CRX. You may need a 90-91 integ cable. Some say they have gotten there stock cable to work and others needed the integ one.

Its very tight against the rack and pinion and the rear engine bracket. I cut exactly like you did right between that oval piece sticking up and the two 12mm holding the center of the dash in just like the picture.

Mine I had to cut different after I measured where the metal bracket was ending up. I had to cut before the dash bracket then route the lines in over it. I will take a picture or two when I get home since I took all that apart to clean up the car and shave down the shifter bracket..

Should have it for ya when I get back home after work.

Damn. You shouldn't be having 'em too short. You sure they are prelude and not accord cables right?

I'll take some pictures from underneath the car for ya.

Off Topic but....
How much did you pick up your swap for shipped? Are you pleased with the way the motor arrived?? I'm planning on ordering one from them also, just wanted to get some input, thanks.

Dont mind the pic. This was when I first started but you can get the drift. I will try to take bigger and more detailed pictures tomorrow if I can.

Looks like you cut the hole pretty far up front under the center of the dash the ones ive seen from poison seem to have the hole cut a few inches in front of the bracket. Alot of wires for the air bag and such where you (j.kidd) cut but looks good.

*I got it for $3100 with everything needed to do the swap
(motor, trans, ecu, shifter linkage, shifter assembly, axles and intermediate shaft, harness with all connecters)
*Highly recommend steve from this comany will help you out, refer me Jason Tamalavicz he might even get yo a better deal than that. If you get it shipped to a shipping dock it will save you $100, if you send him a check you will save credit card processing fees $50

Just to show you how much things have changed. When I first got my swap it totalled out to 3,200 shipped. And that is with everything stated that he got from Steve, but it was a 98 Type S.. Back then (2 and a half years ago) regular h22 swaps were going for about 2400..

Nice pics but would like to see some underneath the car. Mine looks just like these in the car cut in the same locations but too short.

Cut the hole more forward. This will allow the shift assembly to be moved forward more. This will solve your problem.

No. I am sorry I must disagree. If the cables are short now and he has already cut a hole after the dash bracket and between the base it means that the hole is too far forward and it needs to be more back like how mine is. That way you get the cables at least in the car earlier and then you route them over the bracket and to the shifter.. When I first was doing I thought of just cutting a hole like I saw online but after looking it over I saw that the lines would have never cleared if I did it like poisons..

If the large hole were cut another inch forward then the cables may be able to reach the shift assembly. This is what I meant by my last post.

If i cut the large hole any larger foward then the rear shifter mounting bracket holes will then not have a place to mount because it will be moved into the odl factory hole that was there. Right now mine looks just like poisons. Should I cut the small hole more towrds the front of the car. Then it might interfer with the dash mounting bolts and i would need to move alll of the abs wires out from under that dash piece

I did it like poisons, should i make it more like jason kidds??? DO not want to put too much stress on the cables if they are wrapped tight against the rack or transmount bracket

There should only be one hole. Make sure you routed the wires correctly and the little metal bracket that goes along the cables can be moved back some if I remember correctly. But again my hole was cut before the dash bracket as you see in the pic then routed over and then to the shifter.

You have to see what will work best for you..

Hey man, sorry about that. I have more pictures, however, I took more but they are just not loading up due to we-todd-did being slow as hell. Grr. I'll upload more, though.

Here is the few I actually got to upload, my bad for being so big

EDIT Grr, I will resize them and do it when we-todd goes a lil faster.
