Best Mods for the buck???
I was jus wonderin...what is the best bolt on mods you can buy??? I read in a mag. that camshafts are the best mods you can buy for the buck. If you have the money, you can buy em' from JUN, SPOON, etc. or if you don't have the budget, you can buy it from CROWER, SKUNK2, etc...
Cams are good for the buck, but you get the best gains from them when the engine's not restricted. Therefore, it's best to start off with I/H/E, and then do the camshafts. Also invest in a set of adjustable cam sprockets and some dyno time, as you can usually realize a couple of extra horsepower with your setup on the dyno by degreeing the cams correctly.
But then again, you have to realize that strut tower braces only cost about $100 apiece. I'd say that's excellent bang for the buck! Higher-performance tires also give you a good return on the investment, performance-wise.

Also don't forget that before you go fast, you want to handle well. I would invest into suspension/brakes on the first place then invest into the engine mods, but that is just me. I have discovered that some people like supercharging. It is expensive, around $2500, but it is cheaper than swapping the engine and then turbing it. Again, everything depends on how much money you are willing to spend. Thanks for the time
Best performance mod you can do is making sure to replace all the old filters on your car and brakes. First make sure your car is running at its best perfomance before you start modding it, it will be useless adding stuff if your engine is not running at 100%.
yeah...thats true... BUT!...Nitrous has also been labeled "The Cheater Mod"
by ALL MOTOR fans..you are right in saying it does give alot of hp for the buck....
but for me and alot of others...NOS=

Saftey should be your number one mod. There are plenty of guys/gals out there that could drive circles around other cars with tons of mods. Like someone else said before, with extra power you have to be able to stop!! I would do I/H/E but also do the brakes as well. Slotted rotors/lines/ a good set of pads (not Metal Master) such as Porterfield etc. do not buy "bargin" priced parts to save money, save for the good one so you do not have to replace them in a few months!! it will save you in the long run.
Its good to replace everything old on your car, crx's and efs are pretty damn old and this is about the time that every moving part on your crx will begin to quit if i were you id replace everything i could think of it will save you tons of headaches down the road, when i got my rex i began modding it instantly but then as time went on small stuff started to fall apart, right now i need a new caliper, i wish i wouldve checked and changed em a long time ago or at least made some prevention against them going bad. Before you go out and try to hit 12's make sure your car can take it.
I am an ALL MOTOR guy and a Nitrous guy and I don't consider it cheating and who cares if everyone thinks it is cheating, just as long as I am smoking your *** down the 1320.
AMEN to that!....NOS is definitly the cheapest mod for the HP for the $...and the maintence stuff i agree on like oil change and stuff...but what he was asking was for modifications...oil and spark plugs dont fall under that...but then again i dont know if NOS can be considered BOLT-ON

the best mod for the buck, not including maintance would be to do a z6 or y8 head swap, its like 250 for everything head, vtec soilnoid, ecu and you will have between 125-127 hp, and nice 18-20 hp gain where as for 20 hp you would need i/h/e which will cost close to 1000 bucks, plus you have vtec...yummmy yummy vtec.
With all the variables that a good running car needs (clutch, cams, etc., etc.) the best way to do a setup right is to do it ground up from beginning to end. Naturally, we all don't have the money for this so the best things to get are I/H/E and/or suspension first!
