Should i get 205/40-17 or 215 sized tires? for the 215, what size sidewall would give me the closest diameter to the stock 195/55-15 ? and what do u think of the Bridgestone Potenza S03's?

sorry, i figured since u guys were all about autocross you'd know something about tires.

 

Most/All Autocrossers don't use 17" wheels.
edit: that's why he said you might want to try another forum.

 

try usning this formula:

tire width X aspect ratio divided by 12.7(metric conv.) + wheel diameter = tire diameter

for ex. 205 X .40 / 12.7 + 17 = 23.46 overall dia.

A 205/40R17 would be closest to the 195/55R15 in terms of OD. If you really wanted to run a 215, you could run a 215/40, but it wouldn't be as close to your stock OD as the 205/40.

But why 17s? Get some nice 15s.
