literally takes about 20 minutes of normal driving to seat piston rings....so why go 1000 miles?

if it REALLY makes you feel better, go 500 miles.

this is sort on the same line as "get an alarm for your car" mentality.
who pays attention to the alarm going off anymore?

As of now i have 330 miles on it.I haven't reved past 4k yet and i not going to. Im just going ot play it safe and do 1000 miles. Change the oil at that point, and then start driving it into the Vtec area.

Your owners manual will read that the engine should not be races hard for the first 600 miles. and the brakes need 200 miles before they break in.
Anyway I went to 1000 and never got over 5,500 rpms. Then and now its ***** to the wall. IMO you have to break it in the way you would drive the car. I had a 99-ex civic that after 5,000 miles I went to Mobil-1 and then up to 44,000 miles it was driven hard and never gave a hick-up to anything. It ran great and never smoked...BTW I still changed the synthetic every 4-5,000 miles.

you should let your brakes brake in first.. the pads can crack it you drive too hard and brake hard the first couple hundred miles
