How much psi do you run in your slicks?
smokey: try starting at 12 psi and work your way down as you need to. If it feels like you're still spinning the tire at the launch... drop 1psi at a time and see when it start feeling good and hooking up.

Usually about 9-10, going lower get's shakey up top IMO. WHOAH! I will try different air pressures this year again. I have cut a 1.67 60' before with 9psi in the slicks 24.5x7x13

ya bone.. i was surprised at those 20x8x14 M/T when I was able to cut a 1.7 60ft.
I was always stuck at 1.83's. GOOD SLICKS!

damm, now i'm confused. will a 22x8x13 slick be the the right choisce for my 88 crx, the set up i have there now is making 200 WHP. i would like to know, before i put money into a set of rims and slicks! TIA
Smokey, 22x8x13 is a tad small for 200whp. Might be just right depending on your axle ratio. If you have really short gears you might want a 23" or 24.5" slick.

dude, thanks for the input, but john@M&H cleared things up for me. we spoke for about 20-30 minutes, he went over my final drive and gear ratios. he made me understand why the 8/22-13 slick will work in my application, but he also made me understand that if i fork up 500 bucks on some 8/13" rims that my money would be well spendt! john@M&H gets

I'm stepping up to the 22x8x13 M&H slicks as soon as money allows. (singlecam SLEEPER, thanks for the ET's!)
John@M&H, I watched a set of M&H slicks be DESTROYED in one day with only 12 passes. A new Neon SRT-4 driver had a set of 15" slicks at 6 psi. After 6 passes I could no longer read the slick size on the sidewall!!!!!!!
Exospeed and others, the 20x8x14 MT NEED at 14x7-8" rim. I've always ran mine on a TSW Alpine 14x6 rim and have suffered wear issues. I get bad wear on the outer edges and the slicks last about 150-200 passes. I went thru my second pair. A buddy with same slicks on 14x7 rims has 225 passes with even wear.
I do WARM up the slicks......this is how they were the most consistant........
Mind you I'm not a big name racer, but I know MY setup. I have 500+ passes on slick in MY car, I know how it SHOULD react. 700+ passes in my car since I've owned it.
I launch at 7000 rpm or MORE with the SOHC, juice or no juice!!!!!!!

Do you know why you Destroyed the slick and could not read the # on the sidewall , because you were running ( TOO LOW OF AIR PRESSURE ) and the M&H slicks were not designed too run that low, would you go down the freeway with your passenger tires @ 6-psi I don't think so. John@M&H

Just to clarify John, Mistabone wasn't theone who ruined his slicks, he said it was some Neon SRT4 driver that did it.
